IN A RECENT MYSPACE POST ON THEBONES MYSPACE....|
WHY JOHNNY DAMON IS A DICKFACE
Current mood: pissed off
Ok...here it is. The straw that broke the camels back....Johnny Damon is now on my shit list.
In this article, http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=91323
Damon reveals that he will try to get other players out of the Red Sox clubhouse for next year. Am I mistaken or are the Red Sox in the middle of trying to win another world championship? Talk about a team-player...Tek and Schilling should rape this over-priveleged frat boy and then have him talk loyalty to a boy like Wakefield or the under-earning Papi. Fuck him...Trade his ass for a good pitcher, if he's so willing to leave....His offense is useless to me now as he as severely offended a Red Sox fan.
thank you so much nick.
i've alwasy hated Johnny Damon but could never figure out why. i needed a paticular event or comment from him to explain my inner firery rage towards him and you just tossed in a can of gasoline. thank you.
due respect, but i don't think that's the crux of the article. damon concedes that he'll take a shorter contract to stay with the red sox -- four years, which if he's resigned, i think is a reasonable time frame for him (5-6 years is ludicrous) but i'm not sure if he's worth the money/contract.
but i get the impression from the article that if the red sox aren't going to give those players what they want, then they will try to go to another team. he's implying that when kevin millar and johnny are both fielding offers -- presumably, because the red sox aren't interested -- then they'll perhaps make a decision together. i don't think this is any sort of collusion to split up the red sox clubhouse, and even if it was, it would just split up the fucking loudmouth section. and bill mueller.
if this was some sort of crazy expose, it wouldn't be the 5th paragraph in the article, it would be all over WEEI and shit, which i don't listen to anyways, so i wouldn't know if it was. i don't care if my leadoff hitter is a vegan, if he wants to get on base nearly 40% of the time, i'm happy with it. he's got a limp dick for an arm, though.
Perhaps it was my heroin induced rage trip that caused me to possibly overreact. But it seems to me that to say comments like that, during a stretch where the team needs to be more in the moment than ever, those comments, while probably coaxed out by a reporter should be left for a time when the team isn't trying to win a pennant. I understand its something he has to consider as in next year's contract, but I use Derek Lowe as an example. I thoroughly believe that not having a contract last year really bothered this guy. Enough to go 10-10 with a 967.85 ERA. But the difference between Lowe and Damon is that when asked about his contract it was "We'll see what the team brings" or "We're in the middle of a pennant race, we'll worry about these things when the time comes". I'm not crazy about Johnny Damon's comments as it feels like he's almost looking forward to jumping ship. 5-6 years? Ridiculous.
