Why I hate being right.... [Dec. 21st, 2005|11:32 pm]
I called it...Johnny Damon is a Yankee. I have always said he wasn't a team player. I have always said that Hollywood John never cared about anyone but himself. He is no longer cute. Sure, he's a good ball-player. A really good ball-player. But Damon did this when he came to the Red Sox originally: Waited until free-agency and jacked up his price. Did he produce every year? Certainly. Was he part of the greatest team in baseball history(i.e. 2004 Boston Red Sox)? Most definetely. I'd love to remember Johnny Damon for his 2004 ALCS game 7 heroics, with a grand slam and home-run, busting out of his slump. I'd love to remember his gleeming smile when he robbed the Athletics of an out at home with his knack for speedyness. But I can't. What I'm left with Mr. Damon, is a series of great baseball scenes, squashed under this move. How will our children exist as Red Sox fans without that shaggy retard playing center? I'd love to remember Johnny Damon as a player I loved, but I can't. He was a popular player in a popular town who decided to go to the dark side. He's playing for the bad guy's now and as many girls have assessed to me, they never thought evil could look so good. But he's gone from the centerfield in my heart and hopefully a Jeremy Reed, Coco Crisp or the great Dave Roberts can put me back together. The Red Sox are incomplete for next season, and so am I. Thanks Johnny, see you for real in October.

So anyone who was thinking to themselves that Curt Schilling as a closer was a bad choice is now correct. I was pretty indifferent on the matter. And then tonight happened...and I still don't feel all that angry. Granted I'm aggrevated that we lost. However, I don't see this game as being Schillings fault. There are two ways to look at Schillings preformance. Here they are:

Theo and management was pressuring their number one arm to get back in the big leagues.

Schilling dictated to management his willingness to come back and be in the high drama of the moment.

Regardless of the situation, having a Curt Schilling, either coming out of the dugout to start or the bullpen to close never made me at all uneasy. This guy is a pitcher. He's not a starter, he's not middle relief, he's not a closer: He is a pitcher. He is someone who can come in and command the strike zone with his pitches. That is a quality I want in any of the three aforementioned positions. After tonight, it's obvious that the bullpen is not the only problem. Schilling cannot be the whipping boy. Here are some cases.

Millar boots, albeit a mediocre throw from Bill Mueller, that costs the lead to a tie.
Embree remains in to the switch hitting Posada, leading to a lead-off double.
Arroyo was not sharp. He should not be giving up hits like those to Giambi and Bernie.
Francona mis-managed the bullpen before Schilling, giving Timlin inherited runners, something he hasn't been great with.

For all the positives of the game, Damon continuing his hit streak, Papi's blast, Millar getting on a roll, it's easy to see the negative. We lose a game in the AL East, now having the Yankees 1 1/2 games back. Schilling can't close. Timlin should close. Arroyo sucks. Wakefield should close. Manny didn't show up to a press conference at the All-Star Game. Papi farted. Renteria grounded into a double play. Bellhorn struck out. Damon get's a haircut. I think the time to rally around the good of our team has to be now. The problems have been recognized and will work themselves out with the right management and personnel. But let's not jump to conclusions. With all the bad still happening, we lead the division and remain a contender for the playoffs. Oh yeah, we're also defending world champions.

See this...It's in my MySpace as well.... [Jun. 24th, 2005|07:26 pm]

Current mood: pissed off

Ok...here it is. The straw that broke the camels back....Johnny Damon is now on my shit list.

In this article, http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=91323

Damon reveals that he will try to get other players out of the Red Sox clubhouse for next year. Am I mistaken or are the Red Sox in the middle of trying to win another world championship? Talk about a team-player...Tek and Schilling should rape this over-priveleged frat boy and then have him talk loyalty to a boy like Wakefield or the under-earning Papi. Fuck him...Trade his ass for a good pitcher, if he's so willing to leave....His offense is useless to me now as he as severely offended a Red Sox fan.

I can't stand to think about a heart so big it hurts like hell....

Sox signed Mantei. Good pickup if he's healthy.

Can't sleep. I don't feel good about myself or the things that my head produce.

I just gotta get myself over me.

I love you Katie.

In class, teachers wicked boring. I'm so hungry. Gunna eat some chicken fingers soon. I'm dragging ass. Woke up to drive my boo into school on this icy fucking day. I love my boo. She's amazing. I started reading "Faithful" the Stephen King/Stewart O'Nan book about this season for the Red Sox. It's pretty cool. Blade Trinity tommorow...I have an erection because of it. I was reading somewhere that the Sox could possibly pick up Randy Johnson by trading off Arroyo and a pitching prospect. Smart dumb move? Who knows...I'm a big fan of Katie. Yeah...I love her. She rules. I started listening to this new band, This Providence. It's weird because they bring me back to my old emo days of Juliana Theory and Jimmy Eat World. I liken them mostly to Juliana Theory and Jimmy Eat World with a touch of Starting Line. They play with Daphne Loves Derby and Red Light Ambition and they both rule as well. Teacher just called on me and called me Mr.Georgianino. I was like, correct yoself biatch. She loves me though because I bail her out of awkward silences. I'm playing online poker and not even listening but of course I charm my way out. Dumb fuckers...I love Katie. I'm happy.

I'm bored in my English class. Things have been good lately. Thats the first time I've been able to write that. Things have just been consistently something I look forward to. Today is a bit different but not that bad. Just being me, overreacting and a psycho that "needs therapy". I don't really have much to say other than that. Cool.
